Another great “fence” painting that you are sure to love. Traveling through the Caribbean, this seemed like an appropriate painting. This is a semi-live YouTube tutorial tonight. This is a Ginger Cook original 9×12 painting.

You will learn some great dry brushing techniques in this video.
In this lesson, “Rose – an Abstract Puzzle”, you will learn the relationships of different colors and how to blend subtle differences to give the painting more depth.

Hi Ginger,
Thank you for the helpful, insightful PAC. As usual, you remind me why I am the student, and you are the teacher with your comments! I couldn’t put my finger on how to fix my painting, but you saw it immediately.
So, here are my changes: I changed the sky to add more light for contrast to the clouds all over the painting. I also did this in the puddle below, adding more yellows over white! What a difference! I closed off the pond with more foliage and dark reflections.
I straightened the horizon line and added more light values to the clouds above it. I repainted the palm trees larger over the lighter sky, which really helped them pop as the center focus. I enlarged the foliage around the trees.
All the changes really made this painting look so much better. If you have more suggestions, please let me know!! Thanks for your kindness and expertise! My husband commented on how much I have grown as an artist in the 18 months since I have been in the academy. I never painted anything before joining.
Now it is one of my favorite activities, because of you. HAH, Lisa

We will be reducing the number of tutorials added to the BLUE Membership starting next year, 2023. We will be adding our “People and Portraits” to the Purple Membership only. These lessons will be a study in painting people and will be taught a little differently than what we are currently doing. Stay tuned for more details in the coming months! The lessons will not be released on a set schedule but instead will be released as they are completed.
As for the Blue Members, you will get the lessons from the Red Member level that have water as the main component, and also, we will occasionally do a new tutorial, they will not be released on a fixed schedule.
